Privacy Policy

This notice explains how personal data is handled when you visit this website or get in touch with me through it. I only collect what is needed to answer your questions and run the site.

1. Who is responsible for your data

2. What data I collect and why

• Contact form: when you send me a message through the form, I receive your name, your email address and the content of your message. I use them only to reply to your question or request (for example custom orders, studio visits or workshops). Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, or my legitimate interest in answering enquiries (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
• Email or phone: if you contact me directly, I use the information you share to reply to you.
• Visiting the site: technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you open is processed by the web server, and may be used for anonymous visitor statistics and for keeping the site secure. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

3. Services provided by third parties

This website uses a few third-party services, which may receive your IP address when a page loads: Google Fonts (to display the typefaces), Google Maps (the map on the Contact page) and Jetpack / WordPress.com (visitor statistics and site security, where enabled).

My website is hosted by Sybell (Hungary), and the emails I receive are processed through Gmail (Google). Purchases of my ceramics for international orders are made on Etsy, where Etsy’s own privacy policy applies. The same goes for Pinterest, if you follow a link to it.

4. How long I keep your data

Messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and for up to one year afterwards, unless a longer period is required by law (for example accounting rules for orders and invoices). You can ask me to delete your message earlier at any time.

5. Sharing and transfers

I do not sell your data. It is shared only with the service providers mentioned above, who process it on my behalf. Some of them (for example Google) may process data outside the EU/EEA, relying on appropriate safeguards such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

6. Cookies

This website uses cookies that are necessary for it to work. Embedded third-party content, such as the Google Maps map on the Contact page, may set its own cookies when it loads.

7. Your rights

You have the right to ask for access to your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, write to hello@sarakeramia.com. I will reply within one month.

If you believe your data is being handled unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Hungarian data protection authority: Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH), 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9-11., naih.hu. You can also go to court.
